So what do I do if I'm not writing?

I have working as an Instructional Designer for the past 12 years, I manage to fall into the career by accident when I was hired on to do multimedia work for an eLearning company all those years ago.

I started off as a school teacher, teaching Multimedia, Arts, and Computer programming but found the politics of the education system hard to follow and understand, well thought it was bullshit and I wasn't allowed to teach my classes my way!

I studied Multimedia and Programming, and then Education. I know my work is not the best of best, and struggled to find work in the field, but one person took a chance on me and my knowledge with the software and understanding of Learning. It was good, not great, just good, which is why I only heard my boss at the time saying, I guess that would do, where he would say amazing work to the others in the company.

I made a decision there, that I need to continue to learn how to turn my work from yeah good to OMG amazing!

As part of my role in my career and something I finally made peace with, is that I'm a freelance contractor!

Being a contractor has it ups and downs. I like going to different companies and see the in's and out's, how they operate, meeting new people, and seeing what work for them could work at the next place.

I also get to work from home and their office.

I do find the joy in doing Instructional Design, it's like teaching without having to face students.

Until next time....
